Robert Wade divorced his first wife Joane, after she deserted him, returned to England, and refused to live with him either in England or New England.[1]
Robert Wade Divorce |
His second wife's name was Susanna.
It was perhaps a slip of the pen by the author of “Descendants of John Owen ..." who stated the wife of John Owen was "Rebecca Wade of Hartford nearby. The bride was the daughter of Robert and Jemima Wade." [2] There is no evidence that Rebecca Wade was a daughter of Robert and he was certainly never married to Jemima.
