Barbara Anne Lee was born in 1958, in Washington, District of Columbia, the child of Raymond Morris Newton and Margo Aufrecht and was put up for adoption at four days old. She was adopted at four months old by James Elmer Lee and Nettie Mae Vandevender. She married Mark Joseph Buckley in 1999, in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
Some of Barbara's famous relatives include Kathie Bates, Wayne Newton (Mr Las Vegas) and Sir Isaac Newton.
Barbara is a direct descendant of a number of the royal families of Europe (as are many Americans). Research is still being conducted on the length and breath of these connections.
Lord Hugh Fraser (1st Lord Fraser of Lovat), (1437–1501), born in Lovat, Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland is Barbara's 18X Great Grandfather.

Hi! I just checked the changes for Edward Bowling (-abt.1833) and realized that you intentionally added the 1776 project box to the profile (usually when a non-project member adds a project box, it is by accident).
I have posted a comment on the profile that I intend to change the project box to a sticker. If you were acting on behalf of the project, could you post there that you were & why the project wanted to manage the profile? (I'm not a member of the 1776 Project, but work closely with the project's leadership about PPP [Project-Protected Profile] and PMP [Project-Managed Profile] decisions as a result of my work in the Virginia Project and the US Southern Colonies Project. As I noted in my comment on Bowling-1621, it does not look like a profile that the project would usually elect to manage.)
So, I did this back in Dec 2021. Don't really remember why, but I believe I added the project box due to suggestions from the VA Project list. Sorry if I got it wrong.
Ah - that explains it. The DBE error for a project account without a project box is not specific. Maggie had added Virginia Project as a manager in late November, but not the project box, so it turned up as an error shortly after that. When a profile has either a project box or a project account, it needs to also have the corresponding project account or project box (so, 1776 project box needs 1776 Project to be a manager while Virginia Project as a manager means that the profile needs to display the project box for the Virginia Project). Pretty sure it's all sorted now (went back and forth on whether or not the profile needed to be managed by a project & as it stands now, the answer is no).
you added last names, copied from husband's last name, to some XVIII and XIX century Portuguese women profiles that I manage ex. Rosa Josefa (Unknown) Carneiro (abt.1794-). The last name of these profiles is "Unknown" because the source used does not have a last name.
Women adopting husband's last name in Portugal is a recent phenomena (ie. XX century), and it is not universal. In the late XIX century, by French influence, some people in the upper classes started to do it.
I was going through the One Name Studies category when I noticed a few Newton profiles you manage had ended up categorised there. As the category is what we consider a high level category, profiles shouldn't be categorised there but instead under one of the various subcategories - in your case, the Newton Name Study. I removed the separately-entered One Name Studies categories, and then noticed that part of the reason it was ending up there was because of how you'd entered the ONS sticker into the profiles.
On the sticker, if you simply use the |name parameter, it will automatically categorise under Newton Name Study. Adding the |category parameter is only necessary if you're going to categorise it somewhere else, like "Virginia, Newton Name Study" (for example) so I fixed the stickers so that the profiles will appear in the appropriate category :)
Barb, please be careful when importing data from other sources (e.g. Ancestry), noting that locations in North America before 1783 should not have USA or United States included. Adding these will create database errors (now know as suggestions) which will create work for the Data Doctors project. Other location problems may also arise from these imports because other sites to do not check for accuracy or anachronisms,. Please try to be certain that your locations are as precise as possible and be wary of changing them on existing profiles without careful consideration. Thanks.
So, first, I'm not importing anything. All my work is done by hand, manually.
Secondly, I would say that since the United Stated became "official" on September 9th, 1776, I would say there is a problem with the database. Any location after that date should have the United States or USA after it to distinguish it from the place names that are the same in Europe. Many of the settlers named their towns after places they came from. I would think it would be important to distinguish between the two. But of course that's just my opinion.
That's fine. I'll use the 1783 but do know that that is incorrect.
The United Kingdom became official in 1801 when both Great Britain and Ireland each passed an "Act of Union". I don't really use "United Kingdom but I may have taken over some profiles that had that in it. I will correct it when I run across it.
