I want to contribute to the deep genealogy on our shared tree. Here are people I can add, along with dates and locations:

Here are the sources I am using:

Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

The Scotland Project would be the place to go. They will be able to help you with anything pre-1700.

However, I would suggest Ronauld, go have a look at the Profile Improvement Project, and see some of the ways in which you can improve your profiles. Spend some time on the ancestors closer to you, adding Sources, and Biographies. They have some really good examples that you can try and put into practise on your own profiles. Feel free to have a look at my ggg grandmothers profile, which we worked on in the Profile Improvement Project. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Rutledge-1842   I spent a lot of time of that one. They don't have to all look like that, but each profile can use some improvement.

Hi Ronauld, I notice you haven't cited what sources you are using for these people? One of the reasons we have some restrictions on creating and editing pre-1700 profiles is to make sure that reliable sources are being used.

Not totally sure how reliable The Camerons: a history of Clan Cameron by John Stewart of Ardvorlich, published by the Clan Cameron Association 1974, would be, but it has a genealogical chart of the Cameron's of Glendessary on p. 213 (image 246 or 386).  Although it has John Cameron, 2nd of Glendessary, he doesn't have a son Hugh, nor a grandson James.

John Cameron does have a son Archibald, but again no Hugh or James in his children.  John also has a brother Hugh but again no James in that family.  In fact James doesn't appear to be a name used in this branch of the Camerons.
