I did not find a birth record for him at Ancestry (US Library Edition) or FamilySearch.

If you know where he was baptized, you might write the church for a copy of that record.

If you want a paper copy of the certificate you will need to purchase it. If however you just want a record , have you tried the free site familysearch.org ?

Yes, we tried family search and only came up with a military record, that is the only reason I was reaching out !

Ancestry had census, marriage and death and USA citizen app
His mother was Delvina/Delphine LaBerge. Her parents were Francois born about 1835 and Delphine born about 1840

There are more sources on FamilySearch. Use the handy Roots search tool on the right side of the profile to start a FamilySearch search. (No birth record though.)

If you add location tags to your post you will get the attention of members with experience in these areas (Canada, Quebec).

Also, have a look at the list of projects. You may find resources to help you with your research on the pages of the Canada and Quebecois projects. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Projects

Hope that helps!

Hi Bernadette,

I don't know if there are actual birth certificates for that location/time frame: Disraeli, 1897. But this appears to be your grandfather's baptismal record:

"Canada, Québec, registres paroissiaux catholiques, 1621-1979," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-8993-WX26 : accessed 16 July 2021), Disraeli > Sainte-Luce-de-Disraeli > Baptêmes, mariages, sépultures 1884, 1897 Baptism no. 61 > image 365 of 496; Archives Nationales du Quebec (National Archives of Quebec), Montreal.

It appears that he was baptized Joseph Henri Ovila on 12 Sep 1897, born 11 Sep 1897 (né hier - born yesterday) of the legitimate marriage of Pierre Chretien, farmer, and Delvina Liberge, of this parish.
