I am looking for any details of my great grandfather who was General Manager of Crown Mines Johannesburg South Africa around 1920-  1940 my father thinks his name was also Angus John Matheson but I can find no records and I have no idea what his wife’s name is s

My grandfather was 1 of 3 sons Angus John Matheson - who was a surveyor at Crown Mines around 1931- Angus John was married twice - on the first marriage certificate he registers himself as being American.could this branch of the family have come from Nova Scotia or similar?  Any info will be much appreciated

 My father however thinks he was born in crown Mines area around 1892. One son is John l think and his daughters were Valerie and Jackie. The 3 rd son could have been William known as Billy

my father was Ian Angus Matheson born in Livingstone Zambia 1932 Where they were living at Victoria Falls Rhodesia building the railway- Gran said she lived on the trains and had a blanket box which travelled with them - when having this renovated the initials AB Matheson were revealed.

Hi Vivienne,

I found an Angus John Matheson born between 1867 and 1927 on https://www.geni.com/people/Angus-John-Matheson/6000000018328619602?through=6000000007896315418. It says his father was Angus Matheson, his wife was Marjorie King, and he had two brothers, William and John. It also says he had a son, Ian Angus Matheson born 1932. I hope this helps!
