This photo was taken summer 1961, probably somewhere on the south coast of England, I am the redheaded girl on the right, my brother-15 months older than me is the redheaded boy on the left, today is his 70th birthday!. My sister 19 months younger than me is the child at the back, my next sister, the little one at the front is 4.5 yrs younger than me. Got to love the shoes on all of us and the big scab on my knee, I remember how I got it.

There are another 3 children all younger than me who weren't born yet.

M Ross, thank you for sharing such an adorable photo of you and your dear siblings. I love the colors, especially your hair color. My mother had lovely red hair.

I see you hurt your knee. surprise

Hmm, yes, my brother was towing me on a pedal scooter behind his bike, he went over a bump, I didn't, it was nasty, full of dirt and grit and seemed to take forever to heal!
Charming photo with sweet expressions on all four Ross siblings.  Yes, I remember that style of shoes. It seems to me we called them cutouts.

This is the oldest photo I have.  The child is my great grandmother Elizabeth Stymest Bartlett http://wikitree.com/wiki/Bartlett-7643 It's from 1852, (she looks about age 3) a tiny frame decorated in gold under the glass.  I was surprised by her outfit.  She looks like she attended a ball, and who knows, maybe she did with her parents. She lived in St. John, New Brunswick which was a wealthy port city at the time.

Pat, what a fabulous photo you have; most of us do not have photos this old. Elizabeth is absolutely precious, and she looks like you.

What a lovely comment, Alexis.  Thank you. heart

What a treasure, beautiful frame, picture, girl and dress!
Thank you, Vicki.  It originally had a cover, so like a book you could close it.  I suspect someone removed the cover for display purposes.

This is a photo taken by my grand uncle Guy Long in Enid, Oklahoma in 1950. He took this photo of my grand aunt Della Mae and all of their eleven children. Their oldest daughter is holding their first grandchild. Della Mae and Guy loved children, and they were blessed with eleven healthy children.

Oh, Alexis, you are continually treating us with images from your great collection of photos.  This one is another gem.  What's the story behind the team shirts?
Pat, they are wearing their school shirts. They have always known that their great grandfather and their grandparents were Oklahoma pioneers, so they are proud to wear these shirts for the photo. This has always been a very close family, and the older children were the ones that organized the past family reunions.

This is my 3rd great grandfather, Jacob Howe, and four generations of his family. He was a Civil War Veteran, outlived a couple wives and had a herd of kids. This is one of my favorite pics for my Howe line. I wish I could have met him.

I really like that you labeled the people in the photo.

This is my brother and I in about 1972 or 1973.  We are at my grandmother's house.  I'm pretty sure one of my relatives crocheted or knitted my headband and sweater... I'm just not sure who.

The primary photo of my grandfather on a tricycle was from circa 1918 in Chicago. It is important to my family as it is the only known surviving photo from his childhood.  The accompanying photos on the right show a "family tree" of his children and grandchildren also on tricycles or other riding toys..

I love this 'family tree' of riding toys!
Thanks for liking the photo, it is my 1st posted to G2G.
This is a great idea for a family project or start a new family tradition. Amazing.

Hi Sue. There are instructions for posting an image to G2G from an iPad at this link.

It wasn’t easy to post this and I don’t know if I could figure it out again. Thanks for the help.
Glad you got there, Sue. Great photo!

This is the earliest photo that I have of my dad, Hsien-Hsiung James Ko.  He was born in 1924, so this photo would have been from 1929 or so.  I found it the summer that I lived in our family home in Taipei.  I asked him about it in a letter and he remembered the incident.  Ever the stoic though, he added that the injury "wasn't too painful".  I wish I knew more about what happened.

by Betsy Ko G2G6 Pilot (145k points)
He looks like quite the serious young man - what a great picture
Thanks, Brian.  I'm so glad that you were able to quickly change the privacy settings so that we could see the adorable photos of your mother and you and your dogs!

This is a photo of my Dad and his siblings. He and his brother were twins. I'm guessing that they were about 3 years old here, which would mean the picture was taken about 1928.
