help with categorization with new project

Hello all!

Trying to get a one name project off the ground and not quite sure I have the hang of all the categorization and roll up of profiles etc.

The Stern one-name study is active.
I edited the main stern study page to include a link to a location free-space page (NYC) then a link to an active research free-space page (for 1881-1890 Native NYC Stern Births). On the active research free-space page I built a link to the first profile as part of that study and now I want to make sure I have everything linked properly before I add more profiles etc.

Basically I am trying to get assistance with any stickers, categorization, etc. that I will need so I don't need to go back through all the study profiles repeatedly (or atleast not that many times ;)0).

I believe I would like to see categorization lists of all NYC profiles as well as another list of all 1881-1890 native profiles that are part of this study (independent of my list on the research page of course). I am sure that other stickers and tags can be used (i.e. died in infancy, died young, born in NYC, etc) and I am interested in your thoughts and recommendations. I have read the getting started pages but don't think I have a good handle on the categorization, etc will someone be able to assist/offer recommendations?

I just updated the links I think they are working now.

Looking at the single profile, do you see (at the bottom) where the only category Henry is in is in red?  That means there is either a mistake in the typing, or that it isn't connected within the category hierarchy.

You need to click on the red category, and in the box that comes up, you put [[Category:Stern Name Study]].  That category on Henry's profile will now be green.
I actually had to create the category by clicking the red box! I think this was the key and then actually putting the parent category in there so that it would save. Found this at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Category_Creation_and_Removal .... Got me down the right road!!! THANK YOU ... hopefully there might be some additional suggestions as this progresses!

Well, your ONS sticker is on your study page.  You have a link to your Category page as well, so you already have the category.

I'm afraid that the link to your 'first profile' does not work.  Neither does your link to the NYC Study page. You may just have a trailing space at either end of these links.

Here is the link to my Haywood One Name Study.  You might find something you like there and want to copy it to your own Study: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Haywood_Name_Study
thank you for the example! I see how you did the category in your individual profiles. i.e. [[Category:Lancashire, Haywood Name Study]]
Looks like the categories I would like to use don't exist yet, I will need to learn how to create them!

Dave I just learned yesterday about the following. They were recommended to be added to our One Name Study page.  It has already helped me with the Hampson Study I am managing.  Good luck. It can be fun.

Good material, Alice, but the link format may be incorrect. Try this instead:

Thank You that is a beautiful addition!
