Problem with duplicate ID

Dears,

I'm unable to add new Płocieniak profiles anymore. I succesfully created more than ten, but now I get the message:

Error with duplicate ID when creating account for Płocieniak
Unable to create/save new child.

I get this for example when trying to add a child for Płocieniak-7 (Januaria, born 1902). I tried to do the same by adding a sibling for Płocieniak-6, with the same effect.

The same when trying to add a child for Płocieniak-9 (Jarosław, born 1968). 

By searching G2G forum I was unable to find any solution for this problem.

Hi Miroslaw,

Thank you for reporting this. We recently introduced some changes -- meant to improve handling of non-Latin characters -- and there have been unintended consequences that we're still trying to work out. We will get this fixed ASAP.

This appears like it may be a Issue. I found a similar situation where something to this affect was pointed out however back in 2015. https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/132880/error-with-duplicate-id-when-creating

On that solution Chris Whitten pointed out that it was an internal problem

I would suggest tagging Sysop, and contacting info @ wikitree.com (remove spaces)

If I go to

and click on the lnab in the heading, it takes me to

https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/POCIENIAK

But

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Płocieniak-11

takes me to

https://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/PTOCIENIAK

Hmm.

This seems to be in line with Chris' comment about non-latin characters and how they are handled. This is unfortunately outside of my control. I have such characters in my language and names. I guess I just need to wait for the tech team solution.
