A Bigg confusion? Widow Mary Betts of Hartford.

Question

The Widow Mary Betts was a school dame in early Hartford, Connecticut.

Jacobus (Hale House etc.) calls her maiden unknown ______. Torrey (NE Marriages) refers to her as Mary ______. Barbour's Early Families of Hartford calls her _____. Anderson (Great Migration Dir.) calls her by her married name Mary Betts.

And yet her Wikitree profile calls her (Biggs).

I believe she has been confused with the John Betts and Mary Bigge of an earlier generation.

Her name needs to be changed to Unknown. Objections? Thoughts? A source for Bigg?

And it looks like she's got some undocumented children attached to her as well. Is it possible that this was a bad merge, and the profile is meant to represent someone else entirely?

Mm... her children definitely need some attention; there are claims of siblingness between them that might look solid. And son John has a supposed christening identifying his parents...

297: "The will of John Bigg of Maidstone, co.  Kent.... my cousin Betes lving about Lengly, my cousin Betts living there [in New England]."

297:  "The will of Rachel Bigg of Dorchester Mass.  ...  bequeathed 20 shillings to Thomas Beates."

397: "John Bigge of Cranbrooke, co. Kent .... he appears to have been the brother of Elizabeth, wife of John Scotchford, of Brenchley, co. Kent and also of Mary wife of John Bettes or Betts of West Peckham, co. Kent, yeoman."

This is certaily where the information comes from though I have not tried to figure out if the names in the articles correctly match up to the names in profile.
