Could I make some suggestions for the Nav Home Page?

I like being able to have my scratch pad on the nav home page, but its too big.  I would like have it first but still see some of the other feeeds.  Anyway to customise or make the box smaller?

It would also be great if it was possible to have a link to the whats new section.  I think it would get more exposure this way and would encourage people to go there http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/What's_New.  Particularly good for encouraging people to adopt orphaned profiles or other initiatives like that.  Could the links to  'You can customize what appears on this page.' and the 'Whats new' be on the same row?

I think the WHAT'S NEW is easier to access on the slide-down menu under HELP myself .

Maybe the size of scratch pad is okay , but at the bottom instead ?

Yes, I did think of that but I like to have it up front as a memory jog, so its not hidden by other feeds.  Personal preference I suppose.  That's why I thought if it could be made smaller by each user in customising their page.  Probably system limitiations.

Re whats new.  If you don't know its under help you wouldn't go there.  It is generally placed on web sites in a prominant position to alert regular/irregular users.  I would think most users would use the nav home page and if they saw it there, be reminded and check it once in a while.  If you want users to be encouraged to participate in projects like adopting profiles you need to constantly remind them.  Particularly given not everyone is an everday user.

I would like to arrange things in two columns, as it used to be, the scratch pad is automatically smaller and the feeds down the side. As it is I have disabled the scratchpad as being a nuisance where it is and the size it is.

Most irritating to me is, I re-size the scratch-pad area ... do a 'Save Scratch Pad Changes' and, next time I go to the page it's back to its big size ... grrrr.

How are you resizing it? I've clicked and tried to adjust it but nothing.  I am using a mac.
From a PC perspective, I know diddley about Macs! ... Cursor at the bottom right corner of the scratch pad outline.  Left click hold down and resize it ... just like any window.  Hope this helps ... Bob
