Why is GEDCOM match report not finding owner's profile?

I'm helping John Owen and he is working with uploaded GEDCOMs.  He started one that was filtered to just his direct ancestors and siblings and wives.

While doing that he desired to push down and include all descendants where he is doing research.  He created two other GEDCOMs of all descendants of two people he is researching.

When the GEDCompare Report was completed, it fails to match with many of the profiles he has already entered on Wikitree.  Most extreme, for himself, it fails to find a match to his own profile.

He is working around by manually finding them and matching them, but this is pretty tedious.

Why are the profiles he has already entered not being found as matches for his GEDCompare Report?  Seems like some kind of bug.

Is this the "Henry Brewer descendents" Gedcom he uploaded in the last 24 hours? Name search was down for several hours, and I suppose it's possible that the matching process for his Gedcom was affected by that outage. To see if that's the problem, he could upload the same Gedcom again (it's OK to upload a new Gedcom and keep the old one, too -- just use a slightly different name to help in telling the two Gedcoms apart) to see if the matching process is more successful the second time. Refreshing the suggested matches (button at the bottom of the screen) also would go back to Wikitree to find more matches, but that's likely to bring in extra (unwanted) matches for the Unknowns in the file.

It is these two:

GEDCOM ID: File Name Uploaded Status Last Edited
124634: Henry Brewer descendents.ged 9 Sep 2018 GEDCompare Report is ready. 9 Sep 2018 22:18
124609: Joshua Parsons descendents.ged 8 Sep 2018 GEDCompare Report is ready. 9 Sep 2018 22:07
Hmm... The name search problem wouldn't explain the issues with the first Gedcom.

This might possibly have something to do with privacy settings on the profiles in WikiTree. Did this member have an Unlisted profile at the time of the Gedcom uploads? Does he have trusted list access to the existing profiles for the living family members in the Gedcoms?
Yes, his profile is public and he has trusted list access to all the profiles he has added for living family members in his tree.
I think some of those privacy settings may have changed since he uploaded those GEDCOMs. He has a new Gedcom upload now; I hope things are fmgoing better with this one.

I did what Ellen suggested and re uploaded under a different name. It still does not know me, my grandmother, uncle or great grandfather all who are in my tree. It knows my grandfather Stonewall Jackson Marcell but not Maude Brewer his wife and part of the Brewer line. Oh well..... guess I will just be busy for a while. I may just leave out some of my cousins!

The reloaded Gedcom seemed to have the same results. However I find that if you click on my grandfather, for instance,  and match him all of my relatives under him have suggested matches which are correct. It finally got to my mother, me and siblings. Things are looking up now. Thanks for the help William and Ellen.

I just had the same problem with Suggested matches not appearing when the should and it appears to be that they are linked to an Unlisted name when I uploaded an old file for testing something else..

Both of the names that should have Suggested Matches are linked to an Unlisted Name.  I uploaded the file in Sept of last year.  I created it for another member to help fill out part of his Guyer ancestry.  I imported all that I felt met WikiTree standards, a few with unknown in their name and no dates associated to them I left out.  I made the present Profile Manger the manager and removed myself from the Trusted List so they did not appear in my Watch List. This was before the GDPR Rule and at that time I loaded a few names born after 1917 (the 100 Year Rule at that time) and with no Dates of Death.  So now of course they show up as Unlisted and I am not on the Trusted List. That has to be it.  If you look at the top image on the  Match Comparison Page  Match Comparison   you can see this.

Also had a problem with Unlisted Names about a month or so ago where WikiTree was resetting Privacy Levels of existing Profiles linked to an Unlisted Name when the Unlisted Name Profile was added manually.  So I have no doubt GEDCOMpare is having a bit of a problem with Unlisted Name linking as well.  Whether you are on the Trusted Lists of those where you are having the problem or not.

One of the reasons I will not add a name that will be Unlisted to WIkiTree anymore.
