INVISIBLE PROFILE

I have Otha Edward Bowman (Bowman-8240) and the pestilential "Suggestions" said "802 Empty profile"

I looked, I have a profile full of biog and source both

I read and I do not see any untoward "marks" in the material in Biog or Source which a prior Profiler got as an answer back when.

So I hit it with "Corrected" and that didn't appease the Cyber Gnome so I hit it with "False Suggestion" and I guess I'll have to wait til next Sunday (local) to discover whether the Cyber Gnome will accept that

IS there something else I should look to see if it's there -- or not, as the case may be

The profile was empty before you filled it last Sunday, and it must have been empty when this week's pestilential Suggestion report was run.  Tomorrow, when the new updated pestilence befalls us, the 802 error should be gone.

Susan,  I have seen the frustration that envelops you when you talk about "suggestions".  In my opinion, you'll be much better off if the something else you do is to stop looking at "suggestions".  In the meantime, have some CHOCOLATE - it cures all ills.

And if it doesn’t cure them, have more chocolate until you no longer care lol
Maybe add the "Chocolate Needed" Category, I love that one. Just read Susan's comment below, maybe a "Needs a Punching Bag" category is needed.

Does not having a bullet point on your sources make a difference?

The bullet point only makes the presentation of sources neater.

As Herbert pointed out, the suggestion report is run once a week and you need to wait until next run before the error clears. Thank you for being so diligent with your suggestions.

I see you have a 575 FindAGrave - Different birth date suggestion as well. As the lesser birth date is on Find A Grave, you can just mark it as a false suggestion. The problem with false suggestions is they tend to pop up again the next time the profile is worked on. Same goes for unique names unless it is a case of spelling error.

I took care of the 811 Uncleaned profile after merge for you. There was an extra == Sources == heading that I removed. Data Doctors have been working on clearing this error the past week.

Well, chocolate and me, it gives me indigestion and "wind".

HOWEVER, I'm old fashioned -- since WikiTree includes among its many admonitions and expressed expectations that one attends to the health of one's profiles and averts thereby confounding and compounding errors within the WHOLE, I feel the burden of responsibility to attend to ... you get the idea here. I can't not attend to them. I mean, I COULD, but I am not usually feckless. Usually.

Not to say I LIKE attending to Suggestions, deary me, yes, with a sense of dread I approach them ...

BUT I think it is correctly stated it WAS empty and I filled it, and the Cyber Gnome hasn't caught up with my actions yet.

And the comment about the Bullets, Stars and Colons is correct, it's basically "bling" and unnecessary in Sources. I use it in the Census and in some of the documents and etc (the colon) in order to "highlight" some info for future researchers ... if they take the time to read the stuff ...

Musta missed the Unclean Profile or whatever it was ... I'm usually seeing flames about half way through the list ...

I don't think I am frustrated (thwarted). I think Aggravated is more accurate. Given some thought to how do I thwart the obstacle that is (temporarily) thwarting me, I can usually find a way around it. This exercise of the intellect is actually beneficial for me, the brain needs to be exercised

I point out that the disputes with the Cyber Gnome over DOD/DOB are resolved NOT by putting a note in the Biog which the Cyber Gnome ignores, but by NOT USING A HYPERLINK. Thus, C.G. has nothing to compare.

Eventually the bugger's nagging will have forced me to "clean" my entire Watchlist of objects of contention.

If the computer does a new suggestion report once per week it is YOUR task to ignore suggestions you worked on during the week and simply wait until the next report comes. In case the suggestions turn up then AGAIN, then that should be something to ask: "What's up here?" Other than that, I can only tell you: "Keep calm and work on your suggestion list" :). It will get smaller and smaller, and eventually there will show up nothing anymore.
