John, son of Johann Wilhelm Berg, was born on 27 May 1714 at Nordhofen. He emigrated to America with his family in the early 18th century and was naturalised at New Jersey in 1730. The family moved later to Frederick, MD, and John leased Lot no.26 in Monocacy Manor on 25 Feb 1743. He married Judith (b.c.1718) and was the father of John (b.c.1738). He died in 1780 and his son John was given administration of his estate.[1][2]
Research Notes
Further research needed to confirm the children currently (Nov 2023) identified as John's : Johann Peter b.1740, William b.1742, Maria Anna b.1746 and Anna Margaretha b.1758. None of the children's profiles is well-sourced, and this profile had previously been conflated with the profile for John's brother, Peter.
