Biography

Albert Beem and Margrietjen Beeshaaren were "confirmed in the state of matrimony" in Kingston, New York, on 23 August 1721. According to the records of the Reformed Dutch Church of Kingston, they were both born in Hoog-duytsland (Germany) and were residing "under the jurisdiction of" Kingstown. They registered their marriage banns on 13 August and on 23 August were "confirmed in the state of matrimony, being accompanied by a child of which they were the parents." [1]

Their daughter Marytjen was baptized in the Kingston church on 27 August 1721. Her parents' names were recorded as Albert Beem and Margrietjen Beesharen. Witnesses were Jan Oet and Hillegonda Slegtenaar. [2]

Their daughter Magdalena was baptized at Kingston on 13 January 1723. Her parents' names were recorded as Albertus Beem and Margrietjen Peeshaar. Witnesses were Jurian Beem and Madalena Peeshaar. [3]
