Rachel (Clauss) Claes was a Huguenot.

Rachel Clauss was also known as Rachel Closse. She was baptized on 11 FEB 1617/18 at Picardy, France. She was the daughter of Pierre Clauss and Jeanna Famelar. Rachel Clauss married Pierre Cresson, son of Pierre Cresson and Elizabeth Vuilesme, on 5 June 1639 at Sedan, Champagne-Ardenne, Picardy, France. Pierre CRESSON, Jr was born about 1609 in Abbeville, Picardie, France 2 and died on 13 Oct 1679 in Staten Island, Richmond, NY. Rachel Clauss left a will on 15 March 1673 leaving 50 guilders at the church at New York, and indicating that their son, Elias was under 16 years of age.

She died after 1690 (1692?) at Staten Island, Richmond County, New York.

  4. Abraham Cresson was born c.1650 in Van Ryswyck, Holland.
  5. Christina Letel Cresson was born c.1651 in Silus S Holland, Holland, Netherlands, and died 7 Jan 1709 in Cohansey, Salem, New Jersey. She married Jacob Garrisson De Abt 1671, son of Isaac Garrisson and Jeanne Latreille. He was born 27 May 1645 in Montauban, Guyenne, France, and died 30 Apr 1709 in Salem, NJ.
  6. Pierre Cresson was born 16 Jul 1653 in Delft, Zuid, Netherlands, and died 1672.
  7. Rachel Cresson was born 1656 in Delft, Zuid, Netherlands, and died 1710 in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey. She married David Demarest 4 Apr 1675 in Kinderkamack, Essex, NJ. He was born 22 Jun 1649 in Middleburg, Zeeland, Netherlands, and died Aug 1691 in Hackensack, Bergen County, New Jersey.
  8. Joshua Cresson b. 8 Jun 1659, d. 1690
  9. Elias Elizacus Cresson was born 17 Dec 1662 in New Amsterdam, was christened 17 Dec 1662 in Dutch Reformed Church, New York, and died 1673."
