Jane Leids / Lide / Leide was born about 1578 in Worcestershire, England. She married Edward Browne. She died about 1618 in Worcestershire, England.

According to "Gleanings from English Records,"^[1] Nicholas Browne of Reading, Massachusetts, was the son of Joan, the daughter of Thomas Lide and the wife of Edward Browne of Inkberrow, Worcestershire.

Research Notes

Edward and Jane Browne were previously attached as the parents of Ann (_______) Hawkes (abt.1595-1669), an emigrant to New England. Her connection was based on a reference to her son John as a cousin of Thomas Brown (claimed by some to be the son of Nicholas Brown). The details of their "cousin" relationship are not known. In addition, there is no Thomas named in Nicholas' will, and so his connection to this family is disputed as well
