Germain was born in 1755 to Etienne Michaud and Marie Josephe Catherine Nadeau. He was one year old when his father died. His mother married Andre Soucy in 1758. Germain also married twice, the first time at age 21 to Rose Lebelle. She died when he was 58, and he remarried the next year to Catherine Knept.
He had children with both wives. There are possibly other children for Germain, but only those documented are listed. If there is documentation for other children, please add them.
By following the births of his children, it can be seen Germain moved from St- Louis parish to St-André between 1788 and 1790. His first wife, Marie Rose Lebelle, was buried in the St-Louis parish in 1813. Then, he married his second wife in St-Elisabeth parish in 1814. They had at least one child, Florence, who died at the age of 3 in 1826, after her father's death, and is buried in the L'Assomption-de-Sandwich-de-Windsor at Detroit, Michigan, USA, which is also listed as being in Essex, Ontario.
