Elizabeth (Schaefer) Kennebeck has German Roots.

Descendant of Jacob Schmitt. Elizabeth is a maternal granddaughter of Jacob Schmitt, who was one of three founders of Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois in August 1841, along with Nicolaus Adams and Nicolaus Frett.

Elizabeth Schaefer married Bernard Henry Kennebeck, son of Johann Bernard Kennebeck and Maria Adelheid Hemling, on 13 February 1890 at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg, McHenry County, Illinois. Elizabeth and Henry were the parents of twelve known children.
