Biography
Elijah was born about 1869, the son of David Wells and Susanna Taylor. Elijah married Sarah Ferrell in 1795 in Virginia. He married a second time to Elizabeth Ragsdale in 1798. Elizabeth died about 1821-1823 and in 1824, Elijah married a third time to widow Esther (Daugherty) Hammond.
Elijah wrote a will in Lincoln County, Kentucky on 16 Dec 1843, which was proved in court 2 Oct 1844. He named his wife, Ester, daughters: Polly Walls, Martha Yocum, Lucenda Yocum, sons: David, Henry, William, Anthony, and Elijah.
He passed away in 1844.
