He married second, Mrs. Hannah (Raymond) Bulkley, widow of Dr. Charles Bulkley and daughter of Joshua Raymond and Elizabeth Smith, on 13 March 1693 at Wethersfield, Connecticut.[2]
Thomas Avery was in King Philips war and was a successful Indian interpreter.

Anderson has the marriage date as Oct. 22, 1672, but this is clearly a typographical error, as Thomas Minor's diary, to which he refers, shows the date as October 22, 1677.[3][4]
