Soon after marriage they settled at Halifax, Vermont. This couple had a total of 14 children-- 9 daughters, 5 sons, all born at Halifax, Vermont. These were included:

  • Katharine (Catherine) Fish, b. 10 December 1771 [2]; may have married James Henry
  • Dudley Fish (3 Nov 1773 - Mar 1813 [3]); may have married Patty Henry (uncertain)
  • Edward Fish, b. 28 July 1775

Notes

A) Care should be taken to avoid confusion regarding this Nathan Fish with others living contemporaneously in adjacent geographies. This particular Nathan Fish and his wife Phebe Packer migrated from Groton, Connecticut to southern Vermont, where they settled and raised their family. Other same named persons include Fish-2020 and Fish-3373, who were respectively from Groton, Massachusetts and Canterbury, Connecticut; neither of those other two Nathan Fish named persons migrated to, or resided in, Halifax, Vermont.

B) Care must be taken when presuming the location of 'Halifax' in the purported source references. The 'Halifax' associated with this person's death location is a small town in southern Vermont, not Nova Scotia. Several members of this family, and others from Stonington, migrated to Vermont in the 1700s.

C) The Henry surnamed spouses of children Katharine, Dudley, Prudence, Elizabeth, and Annis, probably were children or close family of Benjamin Henry (1742-1816) and Martha (Ayer) of Colrain, Massachusetts. Some of these relationships are summarized in the caption of the online memorial site for Martha (Ayer) Henry [10].
