John was born in 1509 to Thomas Aldrich and Elizabeth Wood (nee Clarke) Elizabeth was the daughter of Gregory Clark of Fulborne, Cambridgeshire, & Elizabeth Sotherland.
John married Elizabeth Sotherton (1506-1587). They had nine children. These are all the children I have found but there might be more who died as an infant or were just missed.

His PCC will dated 1582 describes him as an alderman of Norwich and mentions that he should be buried at the church of Saint Clement five bridge gate there.

He had a cousin also named John Aldritche who had apparently recently died and had a pregnant widow.
Sons John who was to get the manor of Frodwick, Henry and Michael.
Research Notes
There is some question as to whether John had a son named Edward. The History of Parliament states that John had 3 sons and 2 daughters. These must be referring to surviving children, rather than the son and 3 daughters all of whom must have died before maturity.
The reference to Francis Rugge a faithful son-in-law in John's Will (refer above) probably just refer to a trust loyal person rather than illegitimacy verses legitimacy. Rugge actually belongs to his daughter, Anne.

I am thinking along the same lines as you Andrew, I cannot find evidence of Edward as a son and 'Henry Aldred' born 1530. I think both this Henry and Edward come from another part of the Aldrich family and have been linked incorrectly. I am still investigating this matter and the matter of Henry. Refer my Research Notes section under Henry Aldrich (son) & Cambridge benefactor.

Aldrich-853 and Aldrich-123 appear to represent the same person because: The source record I found and added is one of many familysearch trees that agree. It varies as to birthdate, but not spouse or parents. The dupe record I'm merging was previously unsourced with an unknown given name.
