Biography

Ariaentje Blyck (Bleijck, Bleyck Braeckel) born and baptized ca. 1636 at Batavia, Dutch East Indies, daughter of Cornelis Bleijck or von Braecke and [[Jans-130|Swaentje Jans of Embden, Oostfrieslandt] married on 18 November, 1653 Johannes Nevius, who emigrated from Solingen, Westphalia and settled at first on High (Pearl) St. New Amsterdam . After his death Ariaentje married Jan Arissen Middagh[1]

Adriaentje Bleijck|Braeckel would have been the same age as her step sister Elizabeth de Potter (also b. 1636 at Batvia), and the girls grew up together after Adriaentje's mother married Cornelis de Potter ca. 1643. Corrected her father now (she still was connected as daughter to Cornelis de Potter who was her stepfather.

Would like to, but is there a profile for her father already somewhere ?

If not maybe you would like to create one and add the project as manager so we can PPP it as well Tom ?

You seem to know a lot about them already so I trust your judgement :)

Suggest the Adriaentje Bleijck be detatched from Cornelis de Potter. she was dau. of Swaentje Jans, but step dau. of Cornelis de Potter.

Bleijck-15 and Bleijck-2 appear to represent the same person because: This is the oldest maternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Add nickname Ariantje. Thanks!

Bleijck-14 and Bleijck-2 appear to represent the same person because: Just another stray that needs to be merged into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!

Bleijck-11 and Bleijck-2 appear to represent the same person because: Same data (name, spouse, child).

Cornelius Nevius-155 and Nevius-16 is the son being merged.

posted by Philip van der Walt
John, please go ahead and complete this merge when you can. It is now only waiting on your approval.

Regarding your comment on the match, the merges of the parents and ancestors did not *create* more children than needed. Those children are duplicates, who already existed, in separate trees scattered all across WikiTree.

Instead, what the merge of the ancestors has done is to merely assemble those children together as common siblings under the same parent profiles. That is a good thing.

We always need to merge parents first, in order to better find and compare the duplicate children together, and to avoid random parental disconnects in merges of those children.

posted by Steven Mix
The duplicates that always occur after merges will be also merged with as is the usual procedure. Thanks for the information!

Adriaentje had 13 children in all, 9 with Joannes and 4 with Jan. Jan's children were Helena, Aert, Mattheus, and David. source-Joannes Nevius and his Descendants page 139-140

It appears previous merges have created more children than needed.

Jans-876 and Bleijck-2 appear to represent the same person because: they were in an unmerged match & the New Netherland Settlers Approval System (http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:New_Netherland_Settlers_-_Approval_System) now has them marked "Green" (NNS Category) and "Orange" (Merge Pending), indicating that the two are ready to be merged. Thanks!
