Biography

Mark Lowthrop, son of Thomas, was baptised on 27 September 1597 at Etton, Yorkshire[1]

A previous version of this profile claimed that he and Mary Lathrop were the parents of the emigrating siblings Thomas Lothrop and Ellen Lathrop Cheever. Lacking support of this relationship, he's been detached as their father.

Equally lacking support is the assumption of his death and marriage in England.

A possible, but perhaps improvable, source for Mark maybe emigrating to Massachusetts is this:

"U.S. and Canada, Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s" Name:: Mark Lathrop Arrival Year: 1643 Arrival Place:: Massachusetts https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/5192248:7486?ssrc=pt&tid=174604283&pid=132419357465

This is an interesting source, written in 1909:

http://dunhamwilcox.net/me/me_bio_lothrop.htm

Has Mark Lothrop, who was baptized in Etton, Sept. 27, 1597, son of Thomas Lothrop and his third wife Jane.

It says he died Oct. 25, 1685, and gives his descendants through his son Samuel.

Rhonda, what is the source for Mark Lathrop and Mary being parents of the Thomas and Ellen Lothrops who emigrated to New England? Thanks!
