Research Notes

  • Given his marriage on 20 May 1486, one can infer his birth before 20 May 1472.
  • Scots Peerage initially says that Alexander died at Flodden[1] but in its corrections says that he died in 1500.[3] The Batthe of Flodden does list Alexander as one of the casualties[5] so it becomes a challenge to know which statement is correct.

The Scots Peerage, the first source listed, states that his wife was Elizabeth Kennedy.
I recently joined Ancestry.com. I have already received my DNA profile and I am working on my Family Tree. Sir Alexander Stewart (4th of Garlies) appears to be my 15th great-grandfather.
