John was married twice, m.(1) Lady Charlotte Mary Greville, daughter of Francis Greville, 1st Earl of Warwick and Elizabeth Hamilton, on 14 August 1762, and m.(2) Anne Dashwood, daughter of Sir James Dashwood, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Spencer, on 13 June 1764. Anne and John had at least 16 children.
