I believe the children listed below are those of Joseph Jr, son of this Joseph and his first wife Hannah. The Barbour Glastonbury Vital Records entry for the daughter Elizabeth lists Joseph Jr & Eliza as parents.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships.
It is likely that these
autosomal DNA
test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Joseph:
Joseph's first wife, Hannah Edwards, may have been a daughter of Dorothy (Moulton) & John Edwards, b. 1674/75 as listed in the (appended) estate of John Edwards. Hannah may not currently be profiled.
The list of children in his profile doesn't tie to those attached, and some have birthdates after his death. Perhaps this is a list of another person's children...?
I was confused, too! The NEGHS article linked in the sources was very enlightening. It identifies three wives and says he had total of 10 children. The five were by his first wife Hannah Edwards (mentioned in the bio, but not linked to a profile or attached). They were Hannah (in the bio & attached), Dorothy (attached, not mentioned), Susannah, Benjamin and Joseph (mentioned). But the dates are obviously incorrect. The article also gives different marriage dates for the other two wives and has their order reversed. This profile clearly needs some straightening out when someone has time.
I think Elizabeth is NOT Elizabeth Carpenter. Elizabeth Carpenter married Richard Jones, and then John Chappell (according to "New England, The Great Migration and The Great Migration Begins, 1620-1635 for John Chappell", p. 57).
The attached picture shows his will and states he died Nov 1713. It mentions "my present wife Elizabeth". Are Eliza Carpenter and Elizabeth the same? If so, why does her profile state she died in 1709? And also, if she is "my present wife" in 1713, how could Mehitable be a second wife that he married in 1699?
