Ebenezer Hadley was born November 8, 1727 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts, the son of Benjamin Hadley and Mehitable (Applin) Hadley. He married Abigail Spaulding on June 11, 1753 in Chelmsford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. [1] He is the father of Jesse Hadley, Ebenezer Hadley, Abigail Hadley, Martha Hadley, Jacob Hadley, Susanna Hadley, Benjamin Hadley (died as a young child), Benjamin Hadley and Sarah Hadley.

Ebenezer served as a Sergeant in Captain Edmund Munro’s Company, 15th Massachusetts Battalion, Revolutionary War for three years from March 10, 1777, to March 10, 1780.[2]

Research Notes

The paragraphs above describing Ebenezer Hadley's military experience in the Revolutionary War very likely apply to his son, Ebenezer Hadley (b. 1755). The man in this profile would have been 50 years old when the service in Captain Munro's Company took place. Not impossible, but more likely that it was the son, not the father.
