According to Orcutt, Daniel married Ruth, the daughter of Obadiah Wheeler, Vol. 2, Page 1131 however Richardson says she was the daughter of Thomas Goodwin. Great Migration 1634-1635, A-B. (Online database. AmericanAncestors.org. New England Historic Genealogical Society, 2008.) Originally published as: The Great Migration, Immigrants to New England, 1634-1635, Volume 1, A-B, by Robert Charles Anderson, George F. Sanborn, Jr., and Melinde Lutz Sanborn. In the public records of the colony of Connecticut, we find that Daniel Beardsley of Stratford, propounded for freeman at a court of elections held at Hartford, May 13, 1675. In 1724/5 he gave to his son John, a certain piece of land in Fairfield, in Beardsley’s neck’, and also gave to him, dwelling barn, and lot in Stratfield Village. He was one of the overseers chosen at a town meeting, 1693, to consider ways for the destruction of wolves. His name was in the Stratford tax list, for “White Hills Purchase.” Both he and his wife Ruth, were buried in the Congregational Burying-place in Stratford, but the tombstones have disappeared. Beardsley-203 and Beardsley-1092 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents; same age; and a poorly written Daniel looks just like David.

I don't know how one would ever prove that David did not exist. Someone almost certain read a poorly written Daniel as David, especially the final "d" from a poorly written "el". I agree with Vic that David should be merged out of existence.

Beardsley-1092 and Beardsley-203 appear to represent the same person because: Whether he existed or not, there should be only one of him.
