Biography

Charles was born around 1674 in Acadie. He is the son of Jean Doiron and Marie-Anne Canol.[1]

In 1686, at Port Royal, Charles, aged 12, was living with his parents, Jean DOUARON [sic], aged 37, and Marianne [sic] CANOL, aged 35, and his six siblings: Abraham, aged 14, Jean, aged 8, Philippes [sic], aged 4, Pierre, aged 6, Jeanne, aged 8, and Noel, aged 2. The family owned 1 gun, 7 cattle, and 10 sheep.[2]

Census: 1693, Les Mines, Acadia, age 18 years.

He married Françoise Gaudet after the 1693 census. [1]

Their children were:[1]

  1. Charles Doiron (about 1694–1751)
  2. Unknown girl DOIRON ca 1696-
  3. Charlotte Angelique Marie Doiron (about 1698–before 1760)
  4. Marie Doiron (about 1704–before 1752)
  5. Marie Madeleine Doiron (1710–about 1750)
  6. Madeleine Josèphe Doiron (about 1712–1758)
  7. Paul dit Petit Paul Doiron (about 1716–1804)

Charles and Françoise were residing at Rivière-Kenescout, Les Mines, in 1701, with 1 son and 2 daughters.[3]. They were recorded again at Les Mines in 1707, with 1 son (aged 14 or over), and 3 daughters under the age of 12.[4] In 1714, the family was recorded in Pisiguit with five girls.[5]

Charles was on the Census of 1752 at Rivière-du-Moulin-à-Scie, Ile-Saint-Jean, (now Prince-Edward Island) Acadia, age 90 [sic]. He and Françoise were counted in the household of their daughter Madeleine-Josèphe, her husband Paul Boudrot, and their children[1][6]

In 1758, Charles and Françoise, as well as the family of their daughter Madeleine-Josèphe, were put aboard the ship Duke William and deported from Ile Saint-Jean.[7]

They both died at sea while crossing to France.[1]

http://www.nosorigines.qc.ca/GenealogieQuebec.aspx?genealogy=Doiron_Paul&pid=937373&lng=en has Charles as being 110 years old at death. Not likely. Would like to see documentation for his dying in 1758 at sea or at 110 years of age.
