Two of his sons, Henry Willis Bugg and John Langley Bugg, appear to have not married or left issue. They are living with their sister Mary Ann Bugg Trousdale, in the 1850 Census with no spouses. Still researching this.

Research Notes

The military service posted on this profile is a guess. He could have served in North Carolina, since he married there. Also, the list of Revolutionary veterans living in Tennessee shows Samuel Bugg with a birth date of 1743, twenty years older than the man in this profile. Hopefully more research will help.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Samuel by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Samuel:

Elizabeth - do not have proof of actual birth date? His father was born 1712 - that's a stretch? Also, don't know the wife Elizabeth Bilbo and only one of those children match the children I have for my Samuel Bugg (not all connected on wikitree yet).

I would say a little more research needs to be done to narrow this down further. There is more than one Samuel Bugg in this time period.

Both these Samuel's are listed as having the same father. The Will that is on this profile lists children created on the other profile. I'd say profile needs to be merged because it is the same person then more research needed sort out exact dates etc.

I set up the merge again. Please merge.

Thank you!

Bugg-413 and Bugg-89 are not ready to be merged because: not sure of wife and children listed. more research needs to be done.
