Biography

Bergljot was a daughter of Hakon the Mighty, Earl of Lade ^[1] She married Einar Tamberskelve who was murdered at a Thing along with his son, Eindride, on the order of the King Harald Hadrada. Bergljot urged the bonder army to avenge her husband but they were afraid and the king and his men rowed away. She buried her husband and son in the church of St Olaf, near to the grave of the late King, Magnus Olafson. ^[2]
