Elisha was b. Jan. 30, 1785, d. June 22, 1848, Sabina, Ohio; m. Dec. 15, 1808, Highland Co., Ohio, Phoebe Ann Bennett, b. Dec. 4, 1791 dau. ofTimothy and Elizabeth (Hoblitt) Bennett, probably the first family to settle in Clinton Co. Elisha's bro., Joseph, m. Phoebe's sister, Catherine. In 1870, long after the death of her husband, she moved to Missouri where she supposedly joined one of her children. Elisha is listed as a resident of Richmond Twp. in the 1820 Census and is reputed to have given the land for the Doan Cemetery, near Sabina, Ohio. Among his children, according to family tradition were:
