His third married was to Sarah Julia Spence (the daughter of Captain Samuel Spence and Charlotte Spence) on 21 October 1873.
He passed away soon after, on 30 November 1873, and was buried at St. Blasius Churchyard, Shanklin, Isle of Wight Unitary Authority, Isle of Wight, England[4].
His will was proved on 18 February 1874 at the Principal Registry to Sarah-Julia Douglas-Hamilton[5].
