Irma Sonnier is a descendant of an Acadian

Irma Sonnier, daughter of Charles Sonnier and Carmeline Hebert, was born on May 8, 1850, in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana.[1]

She married Norbert Simon circa 1870. By 1900 they had raised ten children. Five of them were counted with them on the U.S. Census in Lafayette that year.[2]

Their known children were:

  2. Marie Odeide Simon (1872)[4]
  3. Coraide Simon (1874-1945)[5]
  4. Marie Carmelite Simon (1876)[6]
  5. Emile Simon (1878)[7]
  6. Joseph Simon (1885)[8]
  7. Jean Simon (1887-1957)[9][10]
  8. Olivia Simon (1889)[11]
  9. Raymond Simon (1891)[12]
  10. Cyril Simon (1895)[13]

Irma Sonnier, wife of Norbert Simon, died on January 23, 1929.[14] She and her husband are buried in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Rayne, Acadia Parish, Louisiana.[15]
