Biography

Lieutenant Pelatiah Whittemore served with 3rd New Hampshire Regiment (1775), Continental Army during the American Revolution.

Pelatiah Whittemore served as a Sergeant in Capt. Ezra Towne’s Co., Col. James Reed’s Regt., Enlisted April 23, 1775, mustered July 11, 1775; appointed second Lieutenant in Capt. James Carr’s Co., May 8, 1777; subsequently promoted to first Lieutenant in Col. George Reid’s Regt. ^{[1] [2] [3]}

Pelatiah Whittemore was born on March 3, 1740 in Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts Bay. His parents were Pelatiah Whittemore and Deborah Kendall. ^{[4] [5]}

He married Hannah Kendall on April 13, 1762. ^{[6] [7]}
