Marie Mius d'Entremont was the daughter of Jacques Mius d'Entremont Baron de Pobomcoup and Anne Saint. Etienne de la Tour.[1][2] She was born circa 1684[3] probably in Pobomcoup, L'Acadie. She married Francois Dupont Duvivier, the son of Huges Dupont Du Vivier and Marie de Gourville, on January 12, 1705 at St. Jean Baptiste Church in Port Royal, Acadia.[2] The marriage created somewhat of a scandal within the French Colonial military as it was performed in secrecy by Felix Pain, the garrison chaplain, against the wishes of the acting Governor. The couple had their first child three months later.[4] In all the couple had 7 children[5]:
1. Francois born April 25, 1705 in Port Royal[6] 2. Joseph Michel born April 4, 1706 in Port Royal[7] 3. Joseph born in 1707 in Port Royal[8] 4. Louis born October 2, 1708 in Port Royal[9] 5. Michel born April 2, 1710 in Port Royal[10] 6. Anne-Marie born in Sérignac, France[5] 7. Marie-Joseph born in 1715 in Louisbourg after her father's death.[5]
She returned to France in 1710 after the surrender of Port Royal to the British.[5] In 1713 the family moved back to North America on an expedition sailing from La Rochelle, France to establish the colony on Ile Royal.[5] After her husband's death in 1714 she recieved a small pension.[5]She remained in Louisbourg, Ile Royal for several years before returning to France where she was living in Paris in 1734.[5]
