Birth
Robert was born in 1667. He is the son of Robert Eames aka Aimes and Rebecca Blake. ^[1] In a hand-written transcription of the Andover town records [Essex County, Massachusetts] his surname is spelled "Amis" :

"Robert Amis, born 28 Feb 1667, Andover, son of Robert Amis" ^{[2] [3]}

In Anderson's "Great Migration" series the spelling of his father's surname "Aimes" appears in a somewhat significant land transaction. ^[4]

Marriage and Children
On the 20th April 1695 "Robart Ames married Bathiah Gatchel at Boxford, Essex County, Massachusetts" ^[5] Bethiah was "of Seconke [Massachusetts]."
