Thanks for your note, Randal. Once you have finished matching/rejected the potential matches, you will be able to add the other family members who don't have profiles on WikiTree. The data in your gedcom will be used so that you don't have to type it. You will also be able to tweak the data (verify names in the correct datafields, spell out place names, edit the bio, etc) to get the best results.
One of our mentors created a visual tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process which you might find helpful. It does a great job of explaining with pictures, much better than I can do in a short comment box.
