Biography

Julia was adopted by Jack Judson Price and Maybelle Cathy Godwin after her Mother Madeline Giles Cobb passed away when she was under a year old. Her birth father Armistead "Al" Cobb just about lost his mind. He met them when they found her playing in a fountain at an A.A. picnic in Crandon Park in Miami. Being unable to have children they fell in love with the tiny child and Al knew she would be better off. Julia's parents adopted her older sister (blood) when she was about four when she saw her sister come up to her gate wearing a red cape and hood she thought her sis was little red riding hood as she had been read the story very recently! Her parents moved to Ft Lauderdale when she was five, buying a house at 4517 sw 52nd st. Right before she went into second grade. [1]

Ballet, acrobatics, riding her horse and swimming at the beach kept Julie quite busy. She was raised in Ft Lauderdale Florida.

Julia was married three times. She had one child, Catherine Lenore, with her first husband Stanly "Sandy" Bandy, and two sons, Michael Jason and Chandler Brian with Michael Haywood.

She and Robert "Jerry" Burnham had none but raised all three!

Research Notes

Once a coconut plantation, Crandon plantation was donated in 1940 to Dade county, to be a Park. Commissioner Crandon ( whom it was named after ) in exchange paved the way for a bridge to connect Key Biscayne with the mainland.

Julie, I'm so glad you're happy with the improvements. If you want to, you can add an adoption "template" to your page. If you want to see what one looks like, you can look at my father's page. He was adopted. I linked the adopted parents to him with the template. And I put his birth mom on the tree as "mother".

Still trying to figure out who the dad was. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ryder-1230

Hi Julia,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.

Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
