Samuel Trundy settled at Deer Isle in 1765, I am using Deer Isle as place of birth for his daughter, Anna Trundy. Anna Trundy and Daniel Crockett were "both of Deer Isle" at the time of their marriage [see marriage intention below]. The Kneeland Genealogy indicates the Daniel Crockett and family were of Cape Rosier [Brooksville, Maine] prior to removing to Prospect, Maine.
At any rate, it is an undoubted fact -(as shown by the Trevett Family Record—prepared by Richard Trevett many years ago)- that Great- Grandfather Daniel Crockett was born at Windham in July, 1775 that his first wife's maiden name was Anna Trundy; that they settled on the farm at Spout Hill, Prospect, around the opening years of the nineteenth Century; that Anna (Trundy) Crockett died there on December 23, 1821, at the age of 41 years, 7 months, and 3 days; and that Great-Grandfather lived there for many years after his second marriage to the "Widow Trevett on December 1st, 1825. Speaking of him in a letter to Mother dated Septeiaber 21, 1916, Mother's sole remaining Aunt, Lydia Mackenzle, now living at 2 Ediaboro* Place, Newtonville, Mass , with her grandson Dr. William T. White, says: "He must have lived a long time on Spout Hill as his first wife and daughter Olive were buried in our field, with many others. He married my mother's sister, Sally Trevett." Noted: Sally Trevett [Sarah/Sally Staples] was wife of Samuel Trevett, born in York, ME in 1786 and died in Prospect on 18 Jul 1822.
[1800] Septembar 22 Daniel Crockett applied for publishment of his Intention of Marriage to Anna Trundy both of Deer Isle which was done by me Nathan H Haskell T Clerk Page 11 Vital Records of Deer Isle, Maine transcribed by Dr. Benjamin Lake Noyes.
Anna was born in 1780. She was the daughter of Samuel Trundy and Ann Carey. She passed away in 1821.
