Charles was born about 1685. He is the son of Alexandre Le Borgne and Marie St-Étienne.[1]
In 1693, at Port Royal, Charles, aged 8, was living with his mother, Marie de St. Estienne, aged 38, widow, and his six siblings: Emanuel [sic] LEBORGNE [sic], aged 17, Marie [sic], aged 15, Alexandre, aged 13, Jeanne [sic], aged 11, Marie Francoise, aged 5, and Anne, aged 3. The family owned 2 guns and was living on 31 arpents of cultivable land with 13 cattle, 15 sheep, and 20 pigs.[2]
He was also listed in the censuses of 1698 (age 15)[3], and again in 1700 (age 15 [sic][4]. Charles disappears from the records after that.

In the original 1693 census at Port Royal, Emmanuel was listed as Emanuel, Le Borgne was listed as le Borgne but transcribed as LEBORGNE, Marie Madeleine was listed as just Marie, and Marie Jeanne was listed as just Jeanne.
