Benjamin was born in 1930. He was the son of Carl Lawson and Daisy Stockbridge. He married Barbara June Reed were married on 12 September 1953 at Tremont, Maine. Barbara June Reed was born on 3 January 1936. They lived in Florida and South Carolina. Benjamin Lawson died on 18 February 2010 in Easley, South Carolina, USA.

Benjamin Lawson and Barbara June Reed had the following children:

i. Wilhemena Lawson was born on 25 February 1954.

ii. Benjamin Lawson Jr. was born on 25 June 1955.

iii. Robert Kerry Lawson was born on 6 August 1958.
