Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with anyone who shares the same ancestors. My family tree is at <https://www.ancestry.com/>.
I am attempting to do my family tree on Ancestry and Family Search. Mostly on Ancestry right now.

I've been working off of a hand written family tree and other public trees but I have found many mistakes on them. I try to corroborate the vital statistics before adding to my tree. I am obsessed with finding Richard S. FLYNT'S parents to be able to add him to my tree. This is the Flynt's missing link. Richard S. Flynt was born 1832 and died in 1890 in North Carolina. I am also trying to find birth info on both Anne Perry Flynt and Ann Fountain. I have 2 sources that have Richard Flynt 1720 marrying twice and each time to an Anne/Ann. I'm hoping this site can help me with my research.

Hello Peggy,

Thank you for embracing the mission of WikiTree by signing the Honor Code! It is truly wonderful to see newer members carrying that mission forward. Just like you, I started with paper records which were full of inaccuracies that we can now find quality sources for here online. My Aunt Helen started the work back in 1980 along with some cousins and they did a great job, but technology is enhancing the process.

Enjoy your trip through the WikiForest! Cindy ~ WikiTree Greeter

Hi Peggy

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.

DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to continue adding sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. If you have exhausted what you know on one line, it can sometimes help to add what you know on another line. The more branches you are able to add the greater the likelihood of finding potential cousins to match with. 24 hours after you connect to an existing profile, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear. The process of identifying which branch elements of DNA relate to will better enable you to find matches which relate to the particular branches you are researching.

Let me know if you have any questions and have fun!
