(Research):Jan Andresse (Andries?) Douw, alias Cuyper, was in America (1646-86) and, no doubt was related.[4]
Douwe Jansz(oon) de Vries van Arentsvelt, which means Douwe, the son of Jans the Vries from Arentsfield, which was probably a village or town.
He was a master glazier. He moved from Harlingen to Leyden soon after 1600. Douwe Jansz was burgess of Leyden, in 1615, and was head of the glassmaker's guild there, possibly when the Mayflower, bearing the Pilgrim Fathers, was dispatched from Leyden to America in 1620. He had many apprentices and, at his death, owned many houses in Kort Rapenburg, a part of Leyden, east side.

Janzoon-3 and Janzoon-1 appear to represent the same person because: This recently imported duplicate is the oldest paternal ancestor in this chain in need of a merge into the NNS PPP. No tree conflicts. Thanks!
Janszoons-1 and Janzoon-1 appear to represent the same person because: Ready to merge. No tree conflicts. I saved the alternate data to the bios. The 1580 birth makes much more sense than 1593. And I have him protected with the good patronymic as an NNS Ancestor, because his status as a Settler by death in the bio notes is questionable. Thanks!
