Born in Greenwich, CT to Alvah W. Sulloway and Susan S. Sulloway who were living in Darien, CT where Alvah practiced law. In 1960, the family moved to Providence, RI where Alvah taught English at Moses Brown School until 1970, when they moved again to Kittery Point, Maine. "Brook" attended Moses Brown until 8th grade and then attended Phillips Exeter Academy, spending his junior year in Barcelona, Spain with School Year Abroad. He earned his AB degree in General Studies from Harvard College in 1978 and moved to Boulder, Colorado. There he worked in the bronze casting business for seven years, learning all aspects of the process at foundries in Boulder, Denver and Tesuque, New Mexico. He married Pamela Fletcher in 1983 and divorced in 1986. In 1985 Brook was off to Minneapolis to study chiropractic at Northwestern College of Chiropractic, graduating in 1988 with a BS in Human Biology and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Returning to Maine, Brook opened a chiropractic office in Bridgton, Maine in 1989. In 1993, he married Melissa Jayne Clark, RN and they had four children: Clark Estabrook, Wesley Anton, Lucien Russell, and Ella Mercedes. Outside of work, Brook is a passionate skier, hiker and rower, volunteering for twenty-two years at Maine Handicapped Skiing and teaching skiing on weekends at Sunday River. He started a Blind Skiing program at Shawnee Peak and an Adaptive Rowing Program on Highland Lake in Bridgton. He joined the Lions Club in 1989 for a number of years, and again in 2019 when the children were grown up. In 2005, he began to serve on the local School Board, eventually becoming chairman of the Board. In 2009, Brook closed the chiropractic practice to attend the ETEP program at the University of Southern Maine to become certified as a teacher. He taught Spanish at Lake Region high School from 2010 through 2017, taking students to Spain (2011) and Guatemala (2012, 2014, 2015, 2016) to volunteer at Safe Passage, a program that supports the children of families that eek a living out of the Guatemala City dump. In 2017, he retired from teaching and teaches skiing at Sunday River full-time in the winter. In the summer, he rows, hikes, bikes, travels and tinkers on vintage SAABS.
