The daughter of Miles Winchell and Lucy (Hollister) Winchell, Lucy was born in New Britain in 1809.[1] She married Willis Bronson (1807-1835), the son of Hosea Bronson and Helen Pease, marrying in East Hartford on May 17, 1827. Their children included:
Burdette Bronson (1831-1833)
Eliza Ann (Bronson) Bridgeman (1833-1907)
Willis Bronson, Jr. (1835-1916)
Willard Bronson (1835-)
They migrated to Pennsylvania, and her husband passed away there in 1835. Lucy remarried, marrying Timothy Lewis, the son of Rev. Nathaniel Lewis and Sarah Hart Cole. They married on November 27, 1840.[citation needed] Their children included:
Theresa Lewis (1837-)
Porter Lewis (1841-1843)
Charles Lewis (1845-)
Lurena (Lewis) Bridgeman (1845-1919)
Lucy Lewis (1848-aft 1870)
Chauncey B. Lewis (1851-1857)
By 1850, they had migrated to Amboy, Illinois, farming there.[2][3][4]
Her husband has passed away in 1872 and by 1875, she was residing her daughter's, Lurena's, household in Grant, Kansas.[5] Lucy passed away at the age of 77 and is buried at Star Cemetery, Patterson, Kansas.[6]
