Welcome to WikiTree and DNA.

My name is John Kingman. I am a Coordinator with the WikiTree DNA Project.

Since you are following the DNA tag, you may be interested in how DNA test matches can be used to supplement your genealogy. You will find the answers in the Help pages, of which the DNA Help category page shows all the DNA help that is available, and the How to Get Started with DNA page is highlighted..

You may see some relatives show up in your list of "DNA Connections" on your profile if they have added a DNA test to their profile. These DNA Connections are possible DNA test matches, they are not sufficient for marking parental relationships as "confirmed with DNA" without providing a DNA Confirmation source citation providing details of the DNA match.

When you are ready to start documenting that your genealogy sources are confirmed by DNA test matches, be sure to follow the guidance at the DNA Confirmation help page. Also, please try out the DNA Confirmation Citation Maker, I strongly recommend it for creating and/or validating your DNA confirmation source citations. A profile should not be marked "confirmed with DNA" without source citations for both genealogy and DNA test matching.

If you have questions or need assistance, feel free to ask on the G2G Forum using the Tag "DNA" and/or "DNA_Confirmation".

Happy hunting!

I am about to finish removing myself from all of your descendants below Judge Molesworth. I think I have successfully made you manager over all of those profiles. I have also added you to the trusted list of all of your ancestors above Judge Molesworth. I'm not sure how high up it added you. Let me give you a link to a Molesworth page on here. You can look at some of our shared cousins and ancestors which may be of interest. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:House_of_Molesworth

If you would like any help with anything, please feel absolutely free to reach out and ask. Wikitree is somewhat of a learning curve, and we are all here to help. It looks like you signed up quite a long while ago, but didn't necessarily get to far into it. There are lots of features available. Explore the menus at the top of your own profile page. Don't be afraid to experiment. Most things can be undone if needed. We are third cousins, twice removed on my side.

Done. By the way, I wouldn't usually recommend allowing someone on the trusted list on your own page, unless they are a very very close relative helping you with your tree. This is why I have removed myself, not because I'm not willing to help in anyway. I look forward to seeing any changes you may add, or any new information I haven't seen. I know there are people in the family trying to find a photo of Judge Molesworth's wife, but one hasn't turned up yet.

Hope-4652 and Hope-472 appear to represent the same person because: This should also connect you to your parents. I will remove myself from managing your profile, and that of your ancestor who aren't my ancestors. I will remove myself from the trusted list too. Any details that are wrong, feel free to fix. The profiles will be able to be changed to which ever privacy setting you want.

Hi Sladen,

We are so happy you decided to upgrade to the Family Member level.

Please visit our tutorial pages to learn how to use WikiTree: How To Use WikiTree. They will save you time, energy, and frustration as you add your family profiles.

Exploring the site is the best way to learn. One way to do that is to check out the drop-down menus on the top right side of your profile page. Finding a known ancestor and collaborating with the profile manager is another great way to start.

Questions? You can always use the G2G link in the Help Menu to find answers.
