Congratulations, you've been a member for a month!
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, Merging, Templates and Volunteer Opportunities!
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
Try our Relationship Finder! It searches 20 generations. If you find a duplicate profile, the other managers are probably related. You can use this to find out how!
Hi! Hope you're enjoying our site. Our primary vision is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person, so please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well!
Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide to get you started.
We also have our Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.
Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. You are now a member of the WikiTree community.
Please note we are trying to build one collaborative tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add profiles to WikiTree.
If you need any help getting started check out the
Help section or head over to the G2G forum. You might also want to check out the introductory
WikiTree video that a member created.
Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help with specific problems if you have any.
Good luck growing your branches, and thanks for offering to help with our shared tree :)
Vernon, I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know that we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the Find link, top right corner of your profile page, select Projects from the drop down box, and then select the link to the DNA project. It has information that might interest you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like more details.
To help you find your way, the help pages and search features can be accessed through the links on the upper right hand corner of almost any page. Feel free to post a question in the G2G Forum or on a relevant profile page.
If you would like to contribute to Wikitree, please click the Volunteer link to receive your Volunteer badge, and post a comment here on your profile to tell us that you are interested in family history and wish to join us.
We will be very glad to welcome you to the Wiki Community.
