Regarding the date of birth for Carrie McClain - I figured out why I used 1877 and not 1878. Carrie's sister Emma was born on September 20, 1878 and there is a birth record to prove it. So November 2, 1878 won't work. However, I just found a birth record for who I think is Carrie (it says C Mclane) which has a date of October 5, 1876 but it is very faint and hard to read. The parents listed are Carrie's. Of further interest, the 1st census Carrie appears in is the 1880 census and it shows her age is 4. So it is a puzzle. Why would Carrie use the wrong birth date.
While he may have had a father named John Black, he was not the son of William Black with a sister, Margaret (Black) Wilson, who is my 3rd ggm. William's son John Black m. Mary Cannon in Franklin Co., Georgia 12 May 1810. Having just discovered John's family and wanting to add to Wikitree do we just delete John S. Black as a son of this John Black?
Deborah Turner Dunn, wow we have a confusing connection....so I just want to note it on your page so I don't need to repeat my efforts down the line. We are not related by blood Billy (your Father), Harold, Elisha, John Lee Turner (Brother of your Father) are all in a different line of Turner's. Margaret Franklin is related to me and she marries John Lee Turner (again not related).
Margaret (Franklin) Turner's mother is Martha Hopkins and her mother is Elizabeth Turner (1781-1810) and she is related to me.
Thanks for your participation during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.

2. 1850 John Waldrop household, U. S. Census, McNairy Co., TN, population schedule., Eleventh District, Enumerated 21 Nov 1850, dwelling 1491, family 1494. "John Waldrop, 37, farmer, value of property $500, born SC; (wife) Fanny, 45, born NC; (son) William, 16, farmer, born TN; (dau) Mary, 13, born TN; (son) John, 9, born TN." Jane Reynolds, 23, born TN is in the house with John and family on this census.
I do not know. It is quite reasonable to think that Fanny's maiden name is Reynolds. Jane is 23; Fanny is 45. She could be a daughter. In 1850, the relationships were not called out.
One could look for a marriage of a "Fanny" to a Reynolds man.
We do not know about a previous marriage, if there were one.
"Congratulations" Deborah on receiving the green "Generous Genealogist" recently. Keep up the good work! PS: Nice profile and tag listings too, you are keeping busy!!
Yes Deborah. I am familiar with the book "The House Of Good's" it is out of print now. There is a copy in the Atlanta, Georgia Library that I could get my local library to order for me to look at and make copies but I can't check it out.
Deborah Thank you for your participating in the 2018 Team Tennessee Volunteers Clean-a-Thon. I hope you will join me again this fall for the 2019 Team Tennessee source-a-thon and next year for the 2019 Team Tennessee Volunteers Clean-a-Thon. You notice you did a lot more than you did last year.

Above is the link to our on line data base. Ancetry seems to have loaded it with ads, so you may want an ad blocker. It has a lot more than Waldrop

In addition to being his brother, Henry was, also, a Minister.
You are right about Andrew Jackson Waldrop. I "tweaked" his profile a little. Thanks muchly.
It was a big compliment to name you child after your brother. I am sure that he did not plan on only one. He did plan to live through the war.
